Event Details

Join us for this environmentally friendly event as we work together to turn trash into treasure and transform cleanup into creativity!

Carnegie One Braddock is partnering with municipalities across our service area to add a creative twist to their annual spring cleanup days by gamifying litter pickup. Community members will be encouraged to collect not only trash, but also unique, colorful, or interesting items they discover along the way—setting aside special finds for a larger creative purpose. These cleanup efforts will take place in the weeks leading up to our Trash to Treasure event on May 9.

Carnegie One will gather the collected objects and invite the community to transform them into a collaborative piece of public art during two hands-on sessions on May 9 and May 16. Participants from outside the immediate area are also welcome to contribute by bringing their own found materials to incorporate into the project.

The first session will focus on creative design, as participants work together to envision and plan a mosaic inspired by the collected materials. During the second session, the group will assemble and install the final piece, bringing the shared vision to life. The completed artwork will be displayed at Carnegie One in Braddock as a celebration of community, sustainability, and creative reuse.
